Billy Ramsell – ‘The Practicalities of Spring Time’

Poet Billy Ramsell describes the evolution of his poem ‘The Practicalities of Spring Time’ in an interview with Dr Adam Hanna of the School of English, University College Cork. Recorded in October 2018.

They discuss, among other things, finding a title, writing in the voice of an alter ego, and why it is sometimes necessary to drop the idea that makes you start to write a poem.
